WHERE COASTLINE MEETS CULTURE

There are so many things to do in Pembrokeshire, in fact we have been here nearly 30 years and are still finding new places to visit and things to do. So here are a few ideas

Pembrokeshire is famous for its coast. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path offers spectacular coastal trails with stunning views and many circular walks often passing secluded sandy beaches, perfect for picnics and paddling, such as Barafundle Bay or the nearby Stackpole Estate with its gardens, woodland walks, and lily ponds.

The county is full of history and culture. St Davids, the smallest city in the UK and resting place of Saint David - the patron Saint of Wales, has a magnificent cathedral. Oriel y Parc is a cultural information centre, art gallery and cafe, beside a good sized car park, from where you can walk into town, or to Carfai Bay. St.David’s is filled with interesting independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, so always worthwhile, whatever the weather.

Pembroke has one of the most imposing castles in Wales. Pembroke Castle was established by the Normans in 1093 and was the birthplace of the first Tudor King, Henry VII. Join one of the free daily tours to find out about its incredible history and take your time exploring the vast building.

Then take a walk around the mill pond, see the swans and enjoy the views back to the dramatic castle. Pembroke town itself has antique shops, cafes, pubs and local shops to enjoy. Rose, a Turkish cafe and restaurant offers delicious food and drinks, whilst West Gate Gallery offers a wonderfully relaxed setting, eating and drinking amongst local crafts and artwork.
